• Washington County Veterans Service Commission member under fire amid complaints (newsandsentinel.com) — Washington County’s Veterans Service Commission in Marietta discussed multiple formal complaints against longtime commissioner Jared Smith this week but chose not to take action. The executive director, however, publicly said he believes Smith should be removed, and Marietta Police attended the meeting due to reported threats, though the session remained calm. Commissioners and residents questioned Smith’s conduct and language toward a county official.
