- Marietta's police and fire departments will receive $127,750 for employees to attend sessions with a crisis counselor. The funds come from the Ohio First Responder Recruitment, Retention, and Resilience Program — a program stemming from House Bill 169, which Ohio Representative Don Jones co-sponsored. Jones said, "I have been a volunteer fireman and EMT for nearly 30 years, so I understand how difficult it can be for first responders to cope with certain crises." (Subscription: Marietta Times)
- Professional archeologist Wesley Clarke will be presenting at the Civil War Round Table of the Mid-Ohio Valley in Marietta on Nov. 17. His presentation, titled “The Trouble With Monuments,” will focus on the symbolism, issues, and concerns of such monuments.
