Here are the top three stories today in Toledo:
- There was no active shooter at Scott High School yesterday despite reports. The Toledo Police said the incident was an "apparent hoax" that was reported to schools across the country. All students, teachers, and school staff were safe. (WTOL)
- A nail technician is in serious condition after being punched in the face three weeks ago. Phong Tran, 43, who works in Northwood, was punched outside of Ye Olde Cock n Bull bar in Toledo in what the victim's sister says was an unprovoked attack. Andre Pitts, 25, was indicted by a grand jury and charged with a felonious attack on Tran. Tran's sister says doctors are only giving Tran a five percent survival rate at this time. (WTVG)
- Toledo Zoo's Project PRAIRIE initiative will receive a total of $500,000 in funding from Owens Corning Foundation. The money contributions will be spread out over five years and will be enough to fund 10 prairies each year. The initiative provides conservation learning in underserved neighborhoods. (WNWO NBC 24)

- Congratulations to the Toledo School for the Arts which will receive a five-year designation as an "exemplary school" from The Arts School Network (ASN). Toledo School for the Arts will officially be awarded at ASN's 2022 National Conference at the end of October in Las Vegas. (WTOL)
- Owens Community College is holding an Open House on Oct. 17 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The event gives prospective students and community members the opportunity to learn more about what the college has to offer. (Press Publications Inc.)
