TMA preps for gallery closures on Dec. 15 (toledofreepress.com) — If you love the Toledo Museum of Art, prepare for big changes starting Dec. 15 as many west wing galleries, including the Great Gallery, close for a multi-year HVAC upgrade and full reinstallation through 2027. Museum leaders say the project will modernize layouts, improve accessibility, and better reflect Toledo’s “Glass City” identity while keeping admission free and involving community voices.
   

2. Woman charged with obstructing justice in homicide of 19-year-old (wtol.com) — A 19-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to an obstructing-justice charge tied to the Nov. 2 shooting death of Jasmine Queen in south Toledo. Two 18-year-olds also face serious charges in the case, and all are now moving through Lucas County’s court system, with pretrial hearings set for Jan. 21.

Lucas Co. father files lawsuit against Roblox, Discord (13abc.com) — From Toledo, a Lucas County father is suing Roblox and Discord after his 13-year-old daughter was allegedly groomed and threatened by an online predator while using the platforms. The federal lawsuit, filed in California, accuses the companies of negligence and design defects and argues they failed to provide adequate safety measures for young users.

Reaction to Ohio marijuana law changes, while S.B. 56 awaits the governor's signature (cleveland19.com) — Ohio lawmakers have passed Senate Bill 56, a major marijuana measure that tightens rules on hemp products, THC drinks, and home growing while expanding expungement options, and it now awaits the governor’s signature. From Toledo, State Sen. Paula Hicks-Hudson is pushing back, arguing the bill undercuts what voters approved in 2023.

University of Michigan students react to firing, arrest of football coach Sherrone Moore (wtol.com) — Reported from Toledo, this story looks at how University of Michigan students in Ann Arbor are reacting after head football coach Sherrone Moore was fired and later jailed in Washtenaw County.
