Retailer DTLR Awards $2,000 Scholarship to Local Toledo Employee to Help Further Their Education
DTLR awarded Kharii Vidales a $2,000 scholarship toward their enrollment at a college or university

DTLR, one of the country’s most successful lifestyle retailers with more than 420 stores in 26 states, today announced its recipients of the annual Employee Scholarship Program with Scholarship of America, awarding $40,000 in scholarships to 20 employees to use toward higher education. Each scholarship recipient received $2,000 toward enrollment at a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university. Student and Toledo local, Kharii Vidales, is a recipient of the DTLR Employee Scholarship.
“At DTLR, we’re incredibly proud of our employees who are committed to furthering their education while continuing to serve their communities,” said Tremayne Lipscomb Sr., Community Outreach Director at DTLR. “Partnering once again with Scholarship America allows us to support their journeys by awarding 20 deserving team members with $2,000 scholarships to help them reach their academic and professional goals.”
In total, the retailer’s Community Outreach Department has invested more than $300,000 in its employees to help further their education and become knowledgeable and outstanding community members.

To be considered for this scholarship, employees must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). Other considerations include academic performance, demonstrated leadership, and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online recommendation.
