🌱 Toledo Fire Asks For $360K Upgrade + TPD Arrest Apartment Shooter

  • An unidentified victim was shot by a neighbor two floors up at an apartment building in the 1800 block of Christian Avenue around 3:30 PM Saturday.
  • Officials with the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ottawa Hills claim an independent audit has found no discrepancies in the tuition management of the church's preschool services.
  • Toledo City Council will vote on whether to approve a $364,000 upgrade for Toledo Fire & Rescue's "Automated Vehicle Locating Systems."

  1. An unidentified victim was shot by a neighbor two floors up at an apartment building in the 1800 block of Christian Avenue around 3:30 PM Saturday. Toledo Police arrested 25-year-old Everette Draper, who allegedly informed officers the bullet was fired from an AK-47 he as handling. (WTOL)
  2. Officials with the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ottawa Hills claim an independent audit has found no discrepancies in the tuition management of the church's preschool services. Former Epworth Preschool Director Jane Lyon was fired after inquiring into the state of the church's budget and a string of subsequent teacher resignations have caused the school's closure for the rest of the year. (WTVG)
  3. Jacob Runyan, 43, and Chase Cominsky, 36, have pleaded guilty to charges related to defrauding the Lake Erie Walleye Trail tournament in Cleveland last September. The pair were found to have stuffed their fish full of weights and were disqualified from winning the $28,760 prize. (WTVG)
  4. Toledo City Council will vote on whether to approve a $364,000 upgrade for Toledo Fire & Rescue's "Automated Vehicle Locating Systems." The move would allow TFRD to know the location of its vehicles at all times to send to emergencies and Deputy Chief of Operations Bryce Blair says the current system is failing. (WTOL)
  5. Self-proclaimed 'government accountability expert' Aaron Collins discovered documents containing personal information in the garbage outside the Toledo Police Department SWAT office. Collins made the discovery Thursday and most of the documents appeared to do with recent Toledo Municipal Court cases. (WNWO)

  • The Whitehouse Inn will hold a prime rib fundraiser for its employees at Crust Pizzeria on March 29 after a fire destroyed the restaurant on March 22. Running from 4-9 PM, all proceeds will be used for employees while the Whitehouse Inn prepares to "rebuild and reopen." (WTVG)
