University Of Toledo: Cross Country Freshman Punches Ticket To NCAA Championships

Freshman Joy Chirchir will represent the Toledo women’s cross country program in the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Tallahassee, Fla.

At Friday’s NCAA Regional, Chirchir finished in 21st place with a time of 20:22.5 to help the Rockets take seventh in the team standings.

In the Mid-American Conference Championships, Chirchir crossed the finish line first and helped Toledo capture the 2021 MAC Women’s Cross Country Championship title. Chirchir finished the 6K with a time of 20:23.2 and was named MAC Freshman of the Year as well as being a First-Team All-MAC selection.
