1 Killed In Shooting At Oregon Culinary Institute: Police

Police responded to the Oregon Culinary Institute around 8:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting.

PORTLAND, OR — One person was killed after police responded to reports of a shooting at the Oregon Culinary Institute in downtown Portland Saturday morning.

Police say they responded to the scene at 1701 Southwest Jefferson Street around 8:30 a.m. First responders found a victim inside the building. Authorities tried saving the victim but their efforts were unsuccessful and the victim later died.

Officers searched the building but no additional victims were found.

The victim is a man in his 60s who was affiliated with the institute. Students and staff arriving for class found the man and called police.

Police say no suspect was found and they do not have a description for the suspect.

The Oregon Culinary Institute will be closed for several hours Saturday.
