2. Portland Fire puts out Christmas tree blaze, urges people to keep water in tree stands (katu.com) — Portland Fire & Rescue is warning residents after a Christmas tree fire at a Cathedral Park home, likely sparked when a very dry tree sat too close to a fireplace. 4. Oregon health workers await national Kaiser deal before ratifying local agreement (koin.com) — Kaiser Permanente and the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals have reached a tentative local deal in Portland that would boost wages and staffing, but workers won’t ratify it yet.
