4-Alarm Fire Causes Evacuations For Some NE Portland Residents
The morning fire grew quickly and caused toxic smoke to pour into the sky and the surrounding neighborhood.

PORTLAND, OR — A large, 4-alarm fire at a scrap yard in Northeast Portland has closed Northeast Killingsworth Street near Northeast 75th Avenue and caused some area evacuations Monday morning.
Portland Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to the fire around 9 a.m., when a huge column of black smoke began pouring into the sky.
Since the initial call, the fire has grown and continued to billow smoke into the surrounding neighborhood.

A 1-mile shelter-in-place zone has been established and fire officials are encouraging residents to close their windows and turn off all HVAC systems to avoid interior pollution.
The homes in small area closest to the fire have been evacuated entirely, officials said.

Second alarm fire at NE 75th and Killingsworth. Killingsworth will be closed until further notice. Multiple cars on fire at this location and water supply difficult in this area.
