Accused MAX Killer Jeremy Christian In Court In New Assault Case

Jeremy Christian, accused of killing two people about a MAX train last year, was back in court – charged with assaulting a fellow prisoner.

PORTLAND, OR – Accused MAX train killer Jeremy Christian was back in court on an unrelated case. He's charged with assaulting another inmate while in jail.

The new charge stems from an incident on July 29 when Christian allegedly assaulted Aundre Dupree Mills. over the summer.

The jail allows prisoners in that area – also known as solitary – to be out two at a time and, even then, for only 45 minutes.

During one of those periods, Christian allegedly beat Mills.

Since then, the two have been kept apart.

Christian is scheduled to go on trial in 2019 for allegedly stabbing two men to death on a MAX train when they came to the defense of two young women who, police say, were the subject of racial invective. It was incident that briefly roiled Portland.
