PORTLAND, OR – Long-removed from Belmont, the Belmont Goats are getting ready for yet another move.
Currently residing in Lents, the goats – who bill themselves as "Portland' nonprofit resident herd" – will be moving at the end of the month to a new home in University Park in North Portland.
They are looking to raise $15,000 to assist with the move. Get all the latest information on what's happening in your community by signing up for Patch's newsletters and breaking news alerts.

The herd – actually 14 goats and one hen – have been a part of Portland since 2012 when they took up residency in a vacant lot on Belmont in Buckman.
Portland being Portland, the area is still known – and being promoted – as "The Goat Blocks."

Since 2014, they've been residing by Lents Town Center.
With that area getting ready to be developed, it was time to find a new home. They've found a three-acre greenspace in the University Park area of North Portland.
Bix Frankonis, a board member of the nonprofit that manages the herd, says that the new location will be a change of pace from the city locations where they've been living.
"The Belmont Goats now will be a kind of hidden, quiet respite within the city," he says. "We will still be accessible, and you will still be able to come visit us.
"Things will just be a bit more bucolic and peaceful now."
He says it will be "sort of like the Grotto" but, instead, of religions, "you know, goats."
They've raised more than $3,600 from their GoFundMe campaign so far and should get their first payout around October 25.
