Biketown Offers Free Rides On Election Day In Show Of Pedal Power
Biketown's parent company is offering the service in nine cities in an effort to make it easier for people to get to the polls and vote.

PORTLAND, OR – On Election Day, you will be able to pedal to the polls in Portland. Biketown says that bicyclists will be able to get 30 minutes of free ride time.
Portland is one of nine cities where Motivate – Biketown's parent company – operates. In each city, people will be able to get free rides and free day passes.
In Portland, the offer is for shorter free rides because Oregon has vote by mail.

"We want to make it easier than ever to pedal to the polls this Election Day," Motivate spokesperson Julie Wood said. "Too many Americans don’t vote because they lack reliable and affordable transportation options.

Motivate is offering the free rides in the Bay Area (Ford GoBike), Boston metro-area (Hubway), Chicago, (Divvy) Columbus (CoGo), Jersey City (Citi Bike), New York City (Citi Bike), Minneapolis (Nice Ride), and Washington D.C.-metro area (Capital Bikeshare).
In most cases, all a rider will beed to do is enter the code BIKETOVOTE in their bike share app.
The exceptions are: Portland, where the code is BIKE2VOTE; and Chicago where Divvy riders need to use the code VOTE18.
