Blue Lake Triathlon Road Closures
Sections of NE Marine Drive and other nearby roads will see morning closures this weekend while 1,000 people participate in the triathlon.
PORTLAND, OR — A section of Northeast Marine Drive and other nearby roads will be closed during triathlon events this weekend, Multnomah County transportation officials announced Thursday.
The 37th annual two-day Blue Lake Triathlon & Multi-Sport Festival will see as many as 1,000 racers spring, swim, and bike around northeast Portland over the weekend, which means roadways will need to be cleared.
The following closures will occur between 8 and 11:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3:

- Roughly 11.5 miles of Northeast Marine Drive will be closed between Northwest Sundial Road and the west end of Portland International Airport;
- Northeast Blue Lake Road will be closed from Northeast Marine Drive to the Blue Lake Park entrance; and
- The westbound lane of Northwest Sundial Road will be closed between Northeast Marine Drive and Northwest Graham Road.
While access to the closed areas along Northeast Marine Drive will be allowed for residents and emergency vehicles, all other through traffic will need to detour on Northeast Sandy Boulevard or on Interstate-84.
