#BreakFree from Fossil Fuels with 350 PDX

350 PDX leads the charge on fossil fuel dependency with #BreakFree, civil disobedience by land and sea.

The Fossil Fuel Situation is real. And no one is more fired up about solving this problem than the people at 350 PDX.

This May, 350 PDX, (the Portland chapter of the nationally operated 350 coalition) whose mission is to generate support behind the climate change movement, will kick-off their #BreakFree movement.

Designed to take on policy-influencing companies like Shell and Tesoro, #BreakFree appeals to a Portland of the people by making activism accessible.

Mia Reback, Staff Organizer and first paid employee at 350, is leading the charge.

“We believe in a transition away from fossil fuel dependency that’s rooted in equity and justice,” she says, “It’s time to take it to the next level.”

If sea-worthy civil disobedience isn’t your deal (kayaktivism, for example: activism from a kayak), there are plenty of other ways to participate; spread the word on social media, donate funds to the cause, or check out a presentation on your legal rights as a civilian to, you know, disobey.

Pick your shade of activism, become a part of a mobilized Portland, and #BreakFree from Fossil Fuels.
