Bridlemile School Briefly On Lockdown, Police Determine All Well
The school was placed on lockdown after a young student saw a man running into the woods. The police investigated and determined all's well

PORTLAND, OR – Some tense moments at Bridlemile Elementary School on Thursday afternoon. The school was placed first on lockdown and then on lockout.
Portland Police say that it was just afternoon when two things happened at the same time, necessitating a call to the police and the school being placed on lockdown.
First there was an explosion from a nearby PGE power pole and the sight of smoke. Around the same time, a young student saw a man running to the nearby woods with something in his hand. Police arrived and lifted the lockdown about 15 minutes but continued to keep the school on lockout while they investigated.
Officers on scene were contacted by a PGE worker who told them of a live fuse blowing on the pole. They determined that there was no threat to students.
