Broadway Bridge Closures June 13 And 14
Late night commuters will need to seek detours over the Steel Bridge during closures of the Broadway Bridge Wednesday and Thursday.

PORTLAND, OR — Late night commuters through Portland can expect the complete closure of Broadway Bridge on Wednesday and Thursday this week to allow contractors to continue Rall Wheel work on the century-old drawbridge, according to Multnomah County transportation spokesman Mike Pullen.
The closure will apply to both vehicular and pedestrian modes of transportation, including bicycles.
Closures on Wednesday, June 13, will occur between 3 and 5 a.m., Pullen said.

During the Wednesday closure, the contracted crew will install a metal shim under a Rall wheel support track.
The closures on Thursday, June 14, will be intermittent, Pullen said.

Closures will occur at 20-minute intervals beginning around 11 p.m. so crews can survey the bridge's alignment.
Commuters can detour over the Steel Bridge while Broadway is closed, Pullen said, noting the closures will not affect Portland Streetcar. TriMet's 17-Broadway/Holgate bus route, however, will detour over the Steel Bridge on Thursday.
The project to replace all four of the original Rall wheels and tracks on Broadway Bridge is nearly complete, Pullen said. For more information on the project, visit MultCo.us/BroadwayRall.
