Broadway Bridge Closures Scheduled This Weekend
The Broadway Bridge will be closed to all traffic between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
PORTLAND, OR — The Broadway Bridge will be closed overnight on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, county transportation officials announced Thursday morning.
To perform maintenance on the century-old drawbridge, Multnomah County work crews will require the bridge to be set in its open position between 11 p.m. June 30 to 5 a.m. July 1, and again from 11 p.m. July 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 2.
TriMet bus route 17-Broadway/Holgate will reportedly detour over the Steel Bridge during the Broadway Bridge closures. Commuters can also use the Fremont Bridge as an alternative route, though cyclists and pedestrians may want to stick to the Steel Bridge.
