  1. Portland State University (PSU) announced they will be "pausing" their cheer program, and current members of the team said they feel blindsided by this decision. Team members claim they have tried to discuss the matter with the school's faculty numerous times, but their requests for a meeting have continued to be ignored. For many athletes on the team, joining the Viking cheer program was a major reason why they chose to attend PSU in the first place. (KPTV)
  2. On Tuesday, Jun. 6, a crash at the intersection of N. Fremont Street and North Williams Avenue left one dead and another seriously injured. The crash reportedly happened around 7:40 p.m., and when officers arrived on the scene, one driver was pronounced dead and the other was rushed by an ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries. According to Portland police, the vehicles collided nearly head-on and it appeared one of them hit a light pole. (KOIN)
  3. Portland-based Chef Jasmyne Romero-Clark had the opportunity to join Season 2 of the Food Network's hit series "Beachside Brawl." The show follows two chefs from the East and West coasts as they compete with their teams to see which side of the country has the best culinary instincts. Romero-Clark will be a part of well-known Chef Brian Malarkey's team and said this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and would do it all over again if she could. (OregonLive.com)
