Chicago Sex Offender Arrested In Portland On Child Porn Charges
Christopher Colon, who is wanted in Chicago on federal sex crime charges, was arrested in Portland on Friday.

PORTLAND, OR – A man wanted in Chicago on federal child pornography charges was arrested Friday in Portland. Christopher Colon is being held in Portland until the U.S. Marshals can send him back to Portland.
Federal Judge Jolie Ross ordered that he remain in custody and returned to Chicago by the middle of next month.
A grand jury there indicted him on three counts of child pornography – two of receiving and one of accessing.

He had been working as an operations manager at the John Hancock Observatory in Chicago where he also gave tours.

Colon lost his job there this summer after a report revealed that an affidavit was unsealed in federal court stating that he had advertised on Craigslist for other men interested in child pornography.
He was also on probation at the time after a 2015 child pornography conviction. As part of his sentence, he'd been order to register as a sex offender and avoid "places primarily used by children."
In Portland, he had registered as a sex offender early this month.
He had also recently applied for a front desk job at Ronald McDonald House, which offers families a place to stay while a child is in the hospital.
He did not get the job.
