PORTLAND, OR — Firefighters reportedly rescued a dog from a house fire in Northeast Portland Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported, and the home's three residents were not present when the fire broke out, officials said.
Portland Fire & Rescue crews were reportedly dispatched to 524 N.E. 69th Ave. at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 2 after receiving reports of a residential fire. When the first engine arrived, firefighters found fire and smoke coming from the rear of the home, official said.
A team immediately entered the home to search for anyone who may have been trapped inside, officials said, noting firefighters located only the family's dog hiding in the basement. The dog was reportedly unharmed and seemingly in good spirits.
