Expect Nightly Broadway Bridge Closures Beginning March 14
After replacing the 100-year-old rall-wheel, crews will conduct a final maintenance project that could take several weeks to finish.

PORTLAND, OR — Late night Broadway Bridge crossers were told to expect delays over the next several weeks while the final adjustments are made to the bridge's recently-replaced lift mechanism, which had been in service for roughly 100 years.
The Broadway Bridge will close to all traffic beginning at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, until as late as 5 a.m. March 15. These nightly closures will likely continue until the work is done, which could take several weeks.
Closing the bridge overnight allows crews to perform maintenance without disrupting daytime commuters or Portland Streetcar services, according to Multnomah County spokesman Mike Pullen.

Public transit, including TriMet's 17-Broadway/Holgate bus route, will/can detour over the Steel Bridge during Broadway closures, Pullen said, noting the Fremont Bridge as another possible alternative route.
