Former Benson High School Coach Harassed Female Students: DA Says
Leon McKenzie III harassed two minor female students last year and this, according to an indictment that states he was physical with them.

PORTLAND, OR – A former coach at Benson High School is charged with harassed two female students, subjecting them to physical contact. Leon Donald McKenzie III turned himself in on Monday.
An indictment says that the contacts happened last year and this.
The investigation started earlier this year when Portland Police were contacted by the school's principal.

Fearing that there could be other victims, the Multnomah County District Attorney's office is asking that any current or former student with information regarding "potential inappropriate conduct" involving McKenzie to contact the Portland Police's Family Service's Division at 503-823-0090.

Portland Public Schools Spokesman Harry Esteve says that the allegations against McKenzie "go against the standards of conduct we expect of our employees and a violation of trust. We have no tolerance for any kind of harassment of our students by adults. We remain dedicated to providing a supportive and safe learning environment for our students, and we encourage students and staff to speak up and report concerns
"Keeping our students safe is our most important responsibility, and there is no place for anyone who harms children at Portland Public Schools."
McKenzie, whose father is the legendary head track coach at the school, is next due back in court on Nov. 30.
