Here are the top three stories today in Portland:
- A crash on Wednesday afternoon briefly shut down the I-84. The left and middle lanes of I-84 West were shut down after the crash happened near the exit to Grand Avenue. The closure lasted for just a few hours, but caused major traffic and road congestion. Several people were injured in the crash, and one person was rushed to the hospital with a broken leg. - The Oregon Zoo has been fighting to protect condors from extinction, and a new donation could help them achieve their goal. The Oregon Zoo was awarded $2 million to fight the extinction of condors. The Condor Restoration Resiliency Project has vowed to modernize the zoo's offsite location. Jonsson Center for Wildlife Conservation in Clackamas County will soon enjoy optimized resources to help in the preservation and breeding of California condors. (KVAL)
- The winter storms from last week continue to cause massive flight delays and cancellations for Portlanders trying to return home. The majority of flight cancellations at the Portland International Airport came from Alaska Airlines, stranding passengers. In recent days, Southwest Airlines has begun mass cancellations as well.
