- A Portland "Big Brother" contestant is in default on a lawsuit against her. According to court records obtained by KOIN 6 News, Whitney Williams defaulted on the lawsuit after she did not respond. The lawsuit came about after Williams' wedding hair and makeup business customers accused her of taking their money and not delivering what she promised; her former business associate also accused her of fraud. The lawsuit, which seeks more than $43,000 in damages, was filed by her business associate. (KOIN.com)
- Portland-area food pantries are struggling to serve the community amid rising food prices. Executive Director Kyle Camberg of The Sunshine Division, a food relief organization in Portland, stated numerous challenges are contributing to the struggle. "It's harder for us to get the resources," Camberg said. "It's more expensive for us to package the resources. We are serving more households than we did in 2019. All of those factors together are a very dangerous equation for us." The organization is accepting both monetary and food donations here. (KGW.com)
- Surveillance video shows thieves stealing $25,000 in merchandise from a family-owned business in Old Town. At around 4:00 a.m., three thieves broke into Orox Leather Co. at 450 Northwest Couch St. and stuffed a sleeping bag with most of the merchandise on display. According to an estimate from General Manager Martin Martinez, the business lost about $25,000 in merchandise, including the bulk of its Black Friday inventory. (KGW.com)
