Man Dies In Northeast Portland House Fire Called Unintentional
Portland Fire says that the elderly man was rushed to the Burn Center at Legacy where he later died.

PORTLAND, OR – A man is dead after a fire spread through his home in Northeast Portland late Friday afternoon. Portland Fire says that the elderly man was rushed to the Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital where he later died.
Firefighters responding to a two-story home at Northeast Alberta and 12th Avenue around 5:15 p.m. were met by large amounts of smoke coming from the first floor.

Officials say that firefighters had a hard time finding the center of the fire because of "excessive amounts of items that were stored throughout the home."
Investigators later determined that the fire was unintentional and caused by having items that could catch fire too close a heat source.

A second person who lived there was not at home at the time.
