May Shooting Suspect Arrested Wednesday In Portland
Michael Adams, who was arrested Wednesday, is suspected of shooting a man at the 82nd Avenue TriMet Transit Station on May 29.

PORTLAND, OR — The man suspected of shooting a TriMet rider at the 82nd Avenue Transit Station last May was arrested in Portland on Wednesday, according to Portland police.
Michael Glen Adams, 60, was taken to Multnomah County Jail and charged with felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and assault.
The search for Adams began May 29 — the day East Precinct officers responded to a shooting at the 82nd Avenue TriMet Transit Station just before 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived at 1515 N.E. 82nd Ave., they located one adult male who'd sustained a serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to the victim, the suspect — later identified as Adams — walked up to him, shot him, then walked away. At this time it's unclear whether Adams knew the victim.
A search for Adams immediately after the shooting was unsuccessful, police officials said.

On Aug. 1, officers with the PPB's Tactical Operations Gang Enforcement Team, the Gun Taskforce, and Canine Division performed a traffic stop on a vehicle they believed Adams was driving.

During the traffic stop Adams was arrested and searched. In Adams' possession officers found a handgun.
Police officials did not say whether the gun found was the gun used in the May 29 shooting.
The investigation is on-going.
