Metro Recycling Center Site Of Possible Chemical Leak
Responding firefighters heard small explosions coming from inside a building.

PORTLAND, OR – Firefighters responded to the Metro Recycling Center on Northwest 61st Avenue on Wednesday morning after reports of a possible hazardous materials spill. One building was forced to evacuate.
Portland Fire & Rescue was called around 11:30 a.m..

Once on scene, they could hear small explosions coming from the building.
Hazmat technicians suited up to enter the building.

Crews started clearing the area about 90 minutes later.
