Metro Region Weather: Hour-By-Hour Forecast For Greater Portland
As much as 5 inches of snow could accumulate across the greater Portland metro region between Tuesday and Wednesday.

PORTLAND, OR — National Weather Service forecasters upgraded an earlier winter weather advisory to a winter storm warning Tuesday morning, announcing the possibility of as much as 7 inches of snow accumulation across the Portland metro region by 4 a.m. Wednesday. By 2 p.m. Tuesday, the possible snow accumulation inch count was reduced to 5 inches.
As temperatures dropped early Feb. 20, schools in the metro area systematically announced early releases for all students and the cancellation of afternoon and evening activities. By 11:30 a.m., the National Weather Service was upgrading its storm forecast.
TriMet transit then cancelled service to some areas at higher elevations out of an abundance of caution. Routes that weren't cancelled altogether would likely see chained buses, causing additional delays due to the max operating speed of 25 mph for chained tires.
