Mother Hurt, Infant Killed In Single-Car Crash Thursday Night
A 26-year-old Vancouver woman is in critical condition after crashing her sedan in rural Clark County Thursday. Her child did not survive.

VANCOUVER, WA — A mother and her infant were involved in a single-car crash in rural east Clark County Thursday night. The mother required mechanical extrication from her car and was taken to hospital with traumatic injuries. The infant did not survive.
Clark County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the single-car crash in the 26000-block of Northeast Bradford Road just before 7 p.m. July 12. When emergency responders arrived, they found passersby already performing CPR on the unresponsive infant.
Sheriff's officials said the driver, identified as 26-year-old Vancouver resident Amanda Pfeifer, struck a tree along the road while traveling in her 2008 Nissan Altima. The impact reportedly flipped the Nissan, requiring emergency responders to pull Pfeifer out with help from East County Fire & Rescue's jaws of life.
