Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt In I-5 Crash

Alcohol is reportedly being investigated as a factor in a serious crash on Interstate-5 Tuesday night.

PORTLAND, OR — Portland police reportedly believe intoxication was a factor in a serious motorcycle crash on Interstate-5 Tuesday night. While the motorcycle operator survived the crash, he sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, police officials said.

The injured motorcyclist has not been identified at this time.

According to police, the rider was cruising south on I-5 at the Interstate Bridge around 10:45 p.m. Oct. 2 when he collided with a Nissan Sentra that had slowed for traffic in a construction zone. The collision reportedly threw the rider from his motorcycle.

When first responders arrived at the scene they reportedly found the man lying in the roadway. The Nissan driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

No citations have been issued at this time, police said.
