Here are the top three stories today in Portland:
- Multnomah County purchased over 22,000 tents and almost 70,000 tarps to support its homeless population. Other supplies included sleeping bags and blankets. Over the past two years, most have been distributed for over $2 million. During the pandemic, shelter space was reduced and the population at homeless camps increased. (KOIN.com)
- Portland’s Santa Clones art installation features 400 Santas. Designer Chris Willis increased the total of Santas from 350 to 400 and added a giant mirror to give the appearance of having doubled that number. In tradition, Willis has not shared where the installation has been placed. He suggested people channel their “inner mountain goat,” “look up,” and look near things starting with a "C." (OregonLive)
- The Amazon Hub at the Gresham apartment complex has been broken into and the lockers emptied. A resident noticed the hub broken open while walking her dog early in the morning. Police say thefts like this are likely to increase during the holiday season as online orders increase. (Fox 12 Oregon)
