Patch: Tell Patch a little about you and your organization!

Betsy: I joined CASA for Children in May of 2014 as Executive Director and am responsible for leadership and management of CASA for Children, Oregon’s largest and longest serving CASA organization.

Patch: How does your organization help to strengthen the local community?

Betsy: CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) exist to advocate for the rights, best interests, and well being of children who have been abused and are under the protection of the juvenile dependency courts in Multnomah, Washington & Columbia counties.

Patch: When did you open?

Betsy: 1985

Patch: What do you hope for the future of your nonprofit?

Betsy: In the future, we hope to serve more children in our three counties. We are currently only able to provide a CASA to 1/3 of the children in care. Our ultimate goal is to provide a CASA for every child in care.
