Patch: What is the biggest struggle your organization faces?

NCO: In order to better meet the needs of local impoverished families, NCO relies upon individual, families, and groups to volunteer at each of our centers on a regular basis. Groups can schedule by emailing. Individuals and families may just show up at a center during open hours.

Patch: What do you hope for the future of your nonprofit?

NCO: It is the desire of NCO's volunteer board of directors to continue as a nonprofit without paid employees. That way, the vast majority of money donated can be used for items children need, rather than employment related costs. (In 2015 NCO’s overhead was less than 5 cents on the dollar leaving 95 cents to be spent on things the community doesn’t as readily donate, but children need.)
