Police Arrest Man Who Fired Gun After Car Crash In SE Portland
Claude Poole, 22, reportedly fired a handgun into the air after the Pontiac he was in ran a stop sign and hit a Honda minivan Sunday night.

PORTLAND, OR — Police on Sunday arrested a man who is believed to have fired a handgun into the air following a two-car crash in Southeast Portland — an incident which is being investigated by the bureau's Gang Enforcement Team.
Claude V. Poole, 22, was taken to Multnomah County Jail and held there for a probation violation stemming from a previous conviction for attempted burglary.
Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers were dispatched just before 6 p.m. April 8 to a reported car crash and gunfire near the intersection of Southeast 84th Avenue and Southeast Duke Street, police officials said.

A southbound Pontiac sedan had reportedly sailed through a stop sign on Southeast 84th Avenue and collided with a westbound Honda minivan on Southeast Duke Street. After the collision, Poole allegedly fired a gun into the air as he and the other occupants of the Pontiac fled the scene.
No one in the minivan was hurt by either the crash or the gunfire, police said.

Officers searching the area reportedly found Poole but were unable to locate the Pontiac or any of its other occupants.
