Police Investigate 2 Shootings Early Friday
One person, a Ford Explorer, and a house were hit by gunfire early Friday in NE Portland. No suspect information is available.

PORTLAND, OR — Portland police on Friday responded to two separate and currently unrelated shootings that left one person injured. No suspect information has been made available.
The first shooting occurred around 3 a.m. May 11 in the 1700-block of Northeast 114th Avenue, in the Parkrose Heights neighborhood.
Multiple residents in the area reportedly called 911 after hearing gunfire.

As Portland officers responded to the location of the reported shooting, officers from Gresham were dispatched to the 1700-block of Northeast 162nd Avenue to check on a man who'd apparently been shot.
The Gresham officers found the man sitting in a Ford Explorer; both the Ford and the man had been struck by gunfire, police said, though the man sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and did not require a trip to hospital.

Gresham police reportedly believe the man was shot on Northeast 114th Avenue. After the shooting, someone reportedly drove the man about 2.5 miles east to Northeast 162nd Avenue, where they called 911.

About an hour and a half later, Portland officers from the Bureau's East Precinct were dispatched to another reported shooting in the 7600-block of Southeast Rural Street, in the Brentwood-Darlington area.
Investigating officers learned a home was struck by gunfire around 4:30 a.m. No one inside was hurt, and no area hospitals reported receiving any gunshot victims, police said.
Evidence of gunfire was found in the road, but no suspect information was readily available at the time of this posting.
Police do not believe the two shootings are connected, but both are being investigated by the Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team.
