Police Investigate Stabbing Near Downtown Food Carts

The July 4 stabbing reportedly occurred around 10:45 p.m. and involved at least two suspects. The victim is expected to survive.

PORTLAND, OR — Police are searching for two people suspected of being involved in a stabbing near the Third Avenue Food Cart Pod in downtown Portland Wednesday night.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, one person sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed multiple times by an unknown assailant.

A man bleeding from several stab wounds flagged down patrolling officers near the food cart pod on Southwest Stark Street, between Southwest Second and Southwest Third avenues, around 10:45 p.m. July 4. Officers provided the man first aid until medical responders arrived and took him to hospital.

The man told police he was assaulted by one man who had another man accompanying him.

The suspects appeared to be in their 20s, police said. No other details of the suspects' appearance were provided.

The men reportedly walked away from the area after the stabbing, but police did not find them during a search.
