Police End Search For Burglary Suspects; No Arrests Made
Portland police searched over several hours for 2 burglary suspects just north of downtown. In the end, no arrests were made.

PORTLAND, OR — Police searched for two burglary suspects in an area just north of downtown Portland Monday morning. Just before 11:30 a.m., officers announced the search had ended and no arrests had been made. The investigation will reportedly continue.
The search took place between North Willamette Boulevard and North Lombard Street, from North Chase to North Seward avenues. Portland police officials essentially locked down the area from public traffic during the search.
The search began after police learned a home in the 8600-block of North Foss Avenue was burglarized just before 5 a.m. Sept. 24. According to witnesses, a man entered the home visibly armed with a handgun, threatened the occupants, took an unidentified item, and then fled in a Jeep.

A responding officer reportedly spotted a Jeep matching the suspect vehicle description pull into a driveway in the 7100-block of North Chase, about one mile from the burglary. Speaking to the two men in the vehicle, the officer reportedly gave directions before the pair decided to flee on foot through a nearby yard and into the neighborhood.
The men are described as white adults possibly in their 20s. One is thought to be about 5-foot-8, the other around 5-foot-6. Both men have a thin build, police said. One of the men was dressed in all black, and one of the men — not sure which — likely has a handgun.
