Portland-Area Air Unhealthy For Some Due To California Fires
The California fires are sending particles to the Pacific Northwest, harming the air quality in Portland and the surrounding area.

PORTLAND, OR – The air quality in and around Portland may not be as bad as it was last year when local wildfires sent ash throughout the area, covering cars, sidewalks, and streets. It is, though, pretty bad right now. Especially for people in what's referred to as "sensitive groups."
The deadly wildfires in California are sending ash and particulates into the sky and the winds are bringing them to the Portland-area.
So, warnings are going out to people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children. They are being cautioned to reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.

The government says that for the air to be healthy, the quality has to measure 50 or below.

As of 10 a.m., Nov 15, the air quality in the Portland-area had risen to 137.
The bad news is that the National Weather Service says that with no rain in the immediate forecast, these conditions will likely continue until Wednesday.
