Portland Cooking Fire Sends Apartment Residents Scrambling
Residents of the Ellington Apartments in Northeast Portland were sent scrambling by a kitchen fire in one of the apartments.

PORTLAND, OR – No one was seriously hurt but not a lot of people were happy on Monday when an early-morning kitchen fire sent them scrambling.
It happened just before 7 a.m.at the Ellington Apartments by Northeast 66th and Broadway.

They arrived and found a fire in a kitchen that had not spread beyond the apartment.
It was quickly extinguished.

While no one was seriously hurt, there were several people who had to be treated for smoke inhalation. No was sent to the hospital.
Portland Fire & Rescue says that people need to pay close attention in the kitchen because cooking-related fires are number one of household fires in the United States.
