Portland Man Found Guilty By Judge Of Raping 12-Year-Old Girl
Demarcus James was found guilty of raping a 12-year-old girl. Prosecutors had presented DNA evidence linking him to the crime.

PORTLAND, OR – A 43-year-old man is behind bars after a judge found that he had raped a 12-year-old girl. Demarcus James was convicted after a four-day trial.
James and the girl lived in the same apartment complex.
The district attorney's office says that their office "presented DNA evidence and other evidence of physical trauma to show there was definitive proof that the child was raped and sexually assaulted.James was also convicted of sexual abuse and sodomy.

Prosecutors said that the girl had returned home crying and told her mother what had happened.

As that was happening, James had someone he knew called 911 and reported a burglary.
James had told responding officers that he had returned home and found two men who assaulted him and burglarized his apartment.
He was also convicted of filing a false police report.
He will be sentenced on Jan. 16, 2019.
