Portland Named 5th Coolest City: Forbes

The magazine named San Francisco the country's coolest city.

PORTLAND, OR -- Forbes magazine this week named Portland the fifth coolest city in the U.S.

The list of the country's coolest cities, which was compiled with the help of Sperling's Best Place, evaluated 100 of the largest metropolitan cities. Researchers evaluated the cities on nine metrics such as mass transit, eateries and recreation.

After looking at the metrics, the magazine named San Francisco. Seattle was ranked second with San Diego and New Orleans ranked third and fourth.

Portland came in fifth place for its bicycles, coffee shops and breweries. But the city is weak when it comes to diversity and small business growth, according to Forbes magazine.
