Portland Police Say Woman Struck By Two Cars Dies, Driver Sought

One driver is in custody, police are looking for the other. Meanwhile, an investigating officer was almost struck by another driver.

PORTLAND, OR – A woman crossing SE Division by 138th Avenue Wednesday night became the 26th traffic fatality of the year in Portland. The woman, whose name has not been released, was struck by two cars.

As police investigated the incident, one of the officers was almost struck by a third car.

Police say that it was just after 10 p.m. and the woman crossing south on Division when she was hit by a driver who kept going. No information on that driver or car have yet been released. Police are looking for the driver.

The woman was then struck by another car. That driver, 42-year-old Brent Klausner, stayed at the scene and was charged with DUII and reckless driving.
