Portland Police Seek Driver Whose Car Caught Fire After Crash

Police say that a driver fled the scene after the crash. A woman, who was a passenger was thrown from the car and seriously injured.

PORTLAND, OR – Portland Police hope that someone knows the man or woman who crashed a car early Thursday morning and then fled. The driver left behind a woman who had been a passenger and was thrown from the car, which also caught fire.

Police say that the crash happened around 1:15 a.m. by the intersection of Sandy and Northeast 162nd Avenue.

According to officials, the driver was speeding, lost control, and crashed into a guard rail, knocking over a light pole in the process.

The woman who was thrown from the car was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital where she is expected to survive.
