Portland School District Sued Over Alleged Abuse
A mother of a student wants Portland Public Schools to pay $7.5 million.

PORTLAND, OR -- A lawsuit was recently filed against the Portland Public Schools district over alleged sexual abuse.
A mom claims her daughter, who is developmentally disabled, was molested by district employee Brett Christy-Hamilton at a Southeast Portland school. But Christy-Hamilton was found not guilty of first-degree sexual abuse in March, according to a report by OregonLive.com.
"The lawsuit faults the school district for failing to require at least two employees in the restroom with a child who needs assistance, and for allegedly failing to 'implement common sense child abuse prevention policies,'" according to the news report.
