Portland Schools Cancel Wednesday Classes

PORTLAND, OR — Portland Public Schools announced late Tuesday the cancellation of all Wednesday classes and activities due to the winter storm that hit the Portland metro region.

Weather forecasts issued late Monday called for a winter weather advisory across a good portion of the Pacific Northwest, with upward of 4 inches of snow possible in some areas.

Schools let out early Tuesday, expecting the snow to begin earlier in the afternoon, but the storm didn't end up hitting the area until around 7 p.m.
