Here are the top three stories today in Portland:
- Enjoy the sun while you can — rainy conditions are headed our way. Thanksgiving holiday travelers should expect rainy/stormy conditions in the PNW early next week. “If you have travel plans over the upcoming holiday, you may be in the clear,” Meteorologist Kelley Bayern said. “Models are trending towards a drier Thanksgiving with high-pressure building midweek. Showers may arrive early in the week, but the region quickly dries by Wednesday.” (KOIN.com)
- Nearly five months after the incident, a Roseway neighborhood shooting victim has been identified. A medical examiner reported the deceased as 23-year-old McKeever Thompson III of Portland. McKeever was gunned down on 81st Avenue on Jun. 20. Anyone with information can contact Detective Michael Jones at michael.jones@portlandoregon.gov or (503) 823-0991 or Detective Michael Schmerber at michael.schmerber@portlandoregon.gov or (503) 823-0991, and reference case number 22-164825. - The Portland City Council is considering ways to pay for its new plans to combat homelessness. Over the past several weeks, the council has revealed plans to eventually ban future unsanctioned campsites and build six campuses for the homeless population. One idea to help pay for these plans includes making changes to the council's budget and obtaining a $4 million down payment. Listen to the payment breakdown at the link. (KGW.com)
