Rose City Park Elementary Reopens With Fanfare For New Students
The building, which had housed parts of two schools, is now a full elementary school with a growing Vietnamese language immersion program.
PORTLAND, OR – It's a grand moment for some students in Northeast Portland. They are attending the just-reopened Rose City Park Elementary School which, for the first time in years, is once again a full-fledged elementary school.
Rose City Park had been home to the ACCESS Academy for talented and gifted student and two grades from the Beverly Cleary School.

To celebrate that fact, the school staged a grand reopening with Vietnamese dance, music, and food.

To make room for the elementary students, the school district made the decision to move the 300 talented and gifted kids out.
That meant splitting up the kids with younger students being sent to Vestal Elementary and the older ones going to Lane Elementary.
