Here are the top three stories today in Portland:
- A Monday afternoon shooting has shattered the glass door to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center's emergency room. Police say someone was being shot at while entering or exiting the hospital. No injuries nor arrests have been reported. (Subscription: OregonLive)
- A Portland landlord who killed one tenant and wounded another has been sentenced to life in prison. Reza Mardani shot George Adkeson and Darlene Kelley in January of 2019 while trying to evict them from an RV. A jury found Mardani guilty in October before he was sentenced by Judge Benjamin Souede. - Theodore Johnson, a former Portland non-profit director, has plead guilty to stealing $320,000 in COVID-19 relief funds. Johnson had been working for Ten Penny International Housing Foundation before committing bank fraud. Johnson misused the CARES Act in order to steal money for the foundation and himself. (KATU)
