Shooting Suspect Collapses After Gunfire, Is Arrested: Police
Jeuan Marks allegedly fired multiple rounds near the Gateway shopping center Tuesday night. No injuries or property damage were reported.

PORTLAND, OR — Police on Tuesday night arrested a man suspected of firing multiple rounds from a handgun near Woodland Park in Northeast Portland. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, but the suspect himself was reportedly found laying in the road a short distance from where the shooting occurred.
Jeuan Jarrard Marks, 43, was taken to hospital then Multnomah County Jail following his arrest. He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine. His bail is set at $17,500.
Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 1100-block of Northeast 99th Avenue just before 11 p.m. April 17. Multiple 911 calls directed officers to Marks' location where officers determined he was the suspect callers were describing.

No victims of the alleged shooting were found, but Marks was spotted laying on Northeast 99th Avenue about 270 feet north of where the shooting occurred by the Gateway shopping center.
Apparently, after allegedly unloading several rounds, Marks collapsed in the road and stayed there until police arrived.

Officers took Marks into custody and sent him to hospital for treatment of an unspecified minor injury, police officials said. Upon his discharge, Marks was taken to jail.
Back at Gateway, officers searching the area for evidence of gunfire located a G17 9x19mm Glock with a high capacity magazine in some grass near where they found Marks. Additionally, evidence of gunfire was found in the original shooting location described by 911 callers.

Marks has a long criminal history in Oregon, which includes convictions and several dismissed cases for a variety of charges, such as burglary, possession of various controlled substances, harassment, menacing, assault, and — most recently — promoting prostitution in Deschutes County this past December.
